Catalog Lesson

Oh delight!  The new Rainbow Resource catalog arrived last week, and just in time, as I had just (that very day!) mentioned to my one year old, who pretended to be very interested, that I was looking forward to a new one, as the old one was missing both covers, the entire table of contents and much of the alphabetized index in the back. I did not remind the one year old that most of those pages were torn out by her.

So, in my exuberance at having received this new, unscathed copy of the juicy, much-encompassing, descriptive, sometimes a little overwhelming (if you haven't met one, they're massive!) catalog, I sat down to dream of the next 18 years or more of homeschooling.  My 2.5 year old climbed up in my comfy blue chair with me, and was not at all interested in pretending to be interested in my research.  What she was interested in, was the cover, which I, admittedly, had not noticed.  You can see it on their page here. It has a lovely scene of a pile of straw, a pile of sticks and a house built of (did you say bricks? Nope!) BOOKS!  Very sweet.

She was delighted to listen to the story of the Three Little Pigs and narrate most of it back to me.  She particularly liked the huffing and puffing portion, and I liked that we were able to enjoy some story time without even cracking the book!
