We have started a little homeschool preschool here with Brooke, and she's enjoying it quite a bit. She LOVES "school" and we've been doing the Rod & Staff readiness series for a while, in addition to painting, playdough and Leap Frog "Letter Factory." However, I needed a little more structure to make sure that school was happening. We decided to try out Heart of Dakota's preschool program, Little Hands to Heaven. It is a really sweet program, and although Brooke knows her letter sounds, she's really enjoying it. Lauren's enjoying most of it, too.
We're doing it at half-speed to extend it until she's close to four years old. Half-speed for us means every other weekday. So we spend two weeks on each unit. I'll do a follow-up review when we are further through (we just finished the first unit) but I'm really liking it so far. It only takes about 30 minutes per day, and in tiny chunks, so if you have, say, a 15 month old and a 2 month old vying for your attention, you can put off the gluing cherrios to paper portion of the day until they are taking a nap. :-)
